Role: UI/UX Designer | Mountain View, U.S. | 2012–2013

All The Cooks was a multi-platform recipe app designed for passionate home chefs — later acquired by Cookpad, a major recipe-sharing platform. I joined as a founding designer, helping two close friends bring the idea to life after we bonded over our shared love for cooking.

Platform-Responsive UX:

Designed for 6+ Platforms:
Created consistent yet native-feeling experiences across Web, iOS, Android, Android TV, Nokia OS, and tablets — balancing platform conventions with a unified brand identity.

Contextual Feature Strategy:
Aligned features to the strengths of each device:

  • Web for deep search and recipe uploads

  • Tablets for step-by-step kitchen mode

  • Phones for shopping lists and sharing food photos

Cross-Platform Consistency:
Solved the challenge of UX cohesion across devices with distinct navigation paradigms, ensuring users could switch platforms without confusion.

Visual Identity & Branding:

  • Designed the original avocado logo, app icons, and wordmark

  • Defined the color palette and visual style across all assets

  • Produced business cards, App Store graphics, stickers, and slide decks

What I’m Proud Of:

This was the project where I truly learned to design with constraints — both technical and contextual. I’m proud of how quickly we moved, how meaningfully we contributed to the cooking community, and that our work was strong enough to be acquired and adopted by Cookpad.
